Cells are resuspended in either 1X PBS or other expression buffer and added to the Lysing Matrix B tube (0.1mm silica beads). After 20-40 seconds processing in a FastPrep® Instrument or equivalent bead-beater, proteins can be extracted from the centrifuged homogenate using a wide variety of methods.
